It is vital to develop a global scientific consensus on methods with which to investigate one of the world’s last unexplored places on it causing the least possible disturbance. That environment, a unique system of lakes and other aquatic systems that connect them together perhaps, is buried several kilometers beneath the Antarctic ice sheet and is a kind of “time capsule” whose purity is vital to keep for no invalidate the research findings or cause other damage.
