nuclear-reactorRussia and Italy have agreed to build a new nuclear fusion reactor on the outskirts of Moscow that could become the first such reactors reaches ignition, the point at which a fusion reaction becomes self-sustaining and no longer require a constant supply of energy. The design of the reactor, called the Ignitor, came from Bruno Coppi, MIT physics professor and principal investigator of the future project. (more…)
